Congratulations Caitlin!

Congratulations to Dr. Caitlin Grant (ECVCN Resident) for defending her thesis today and successfully completing her Doctor of Veterinary Science (DVSc) with the Clinical Nutrition team!

Caitlin and her dog Pilot!

Although we are happy for Caitlin, she will be missed by everyone from the OVC Pet Nutrition team!

Caitlin joined the team in 2017. Prior to this, she worked as a veterinarian in a rural mixed animal practice for 3 years. As a DVSc Candidate, her research focused on energy restriction-related essential nutrient deficiency and metabolic changes in obese cats. Apart from her own research, Caitlin helped other graduate students by being involved in the hands-on aspects of numerous trials. She also spend a lot of her time in the OVC Health Sciences Centre, providing nutrition consults to pet owners and teaching veterinary students, as part of her residency with the European College of Veterinary and Comparative Nutrition (ECVCN).

We know that Caitlin’s three dogs (Pilot, Georgie, and Charlie), two cats (Matilda and Steve), and her husband Michael are also very proud of her!

Caitlin has a very bright future ahead of her, and we are very excited to see what the next chapter of her life may bring!
